Fairy Meadows lies in the Himalayan mountain ranges in the Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan and is located 3,300 meters (10,826 feet) above sea level.
The Fairy Meadows trek starts at Tattu Valley. To reach this place, one has to take a 1 hour jeep ride from Raikot Bridge. The Raikot Bridge is located 1.5 hours drive from Chilas and 2 hours drive from Gilgit City.
If you are travelling from Islamabad, Raikot is located at a distance of 440 km from Islamabad, and the journey via the Naran/Babusar road takes approximately 10 hours.

Fairy Meadow Road:
The iconic Fairy Meadow road is considered amongst the deadliest roads in the world. In 2013 WHO declared it the world's second most dangerous road. The road to Fairy Meadows is a narrow 15 km-long trail, specially built for 4x4 jeeps.
The road is only open to locals who provide transportation to tourists and travelers. In order to reach Tattu (the trek starting point), you have to book a jeep for PKR 17000. Alternatively, you have to wait for groups to join to split the cost.

Fairy Meadows is a relatively easy trek in the Gilgit-Baltistan, and people of all fitness levels can easily reach the Nanga Parbat base camp in just 2 days. Fairy Meadow gets very crowded during the summer season specially from June till the end of August.
Fairy Meadow Itinerary
If you’re considering a trip to Fairy Meadows, the itinerary is recommended.
- Day 1st: Reach Raikot Bridge from either Islamabad or Lahore. Choose the Naran/Babusar road.
- Day 2nd: Book a jeep at Raikot Bridge and experience the most dangerous road in the world. Trek for two hours from the jeep stop to reach Fairy Meadows.
- Day 3rd: Keep trekking to Beyal camp. Take lunch and continue your journey to Nanga Parbat base camp. This trek is 4 hours long.
- Day 4th: Trek back the next day to Tattu Valley. Your jeep will be waiting for you there and take a ride to Raikot Bridge. Continue your journey towards Naran. Keep your night stay at Naran.
- Day 5th: Drive back to Islamabad or Lahore the next day.
Fairy Meadow Trekking Essentials.
