Patundas Meadows is located in the Upper Hunza Region, called Gojal Valley. A 3-day trek is sufficient to reach the meadow from Hunza Valley. This trek is generally easy, though crossing the glacier can be a bit tricky.

Information and highlights about this trek and tour:

  • 40-minute drive from central Hunza to reach the trek starting point, located at Borith Village.
  • 3–4-hour trek to reach the first camp site, known as luzdur. This includes Glacier crossing as well.
  • 2–3-hour trek to reach the second camp site, the Patundas Meadows.
  • Altitude of this meadow is around 4170 m and total trek distance is around 27 km.

This trip also includes a tour of Hunza valley. You will explore all the major attractions in the region.

Itinerary of Hunza and Patundas Trek and Tour

Day 01 and Day 02: Drive to Naran Valley and then to Hunza Valley.

The first two days of the trip involves a drive from Islamabad to Naran, and then onward to Minapin Valley, from where the trek starts. Along the way, the following tourist spot lies:

  1. Shogran and Naran Valley
  2. Lulusar lake and Babusar Top
  3. Three mountain junction points.

Day 03: Hunza Valley Tour:

  1. Visit Altit and Baltit Forts.
  2. Taste Hunza local cuisine at Hunza Food Pavilion.
  3. Explore Karimabad and Altit Bazar.
  4. Enjoy the sunset at Duiker Hunza.

Day 04: Patundas Hiking Day:

  • Hiking Time: 3 to 4 hours maximum.
  • Hiking Distance: Approximately 7-8 km.
  • Starting point: Borith Village Zero point.
  • Ending point: Luzdur campsite.
  • Trek Difficulty: Moderate, the technical part is Glacier crossing on the first day.
  • Night stay: In camps

Day 05: Trek to Patundas Meadows:

  • Hiking Time: 2 hours maximum.
  • Hiking Distance: Approximately 6-7 km.
  • Starting point: Luzdur campsite.
  • Ending point: Patundas Meadows.
  • Trek Difficulty: Moderate, with steep incline.
  • Night stay: In camps

Day 06: Trek back to Borith and transfer to hotels:

  • Hiking Time: 5 to 6 hours maximum.
  • Hiking Distance: Approximately 16 km.
  • Starting point: Patundas meadows campsite.
  • Ending point: Borith Village, Zero point.
  • Trek Difficulty: Moderate with Glacier crossing a bit technical on this day as well.
  • Night stay: In a hotel.

Day 07: Explore Gojal Valley:

  1. Visit Gulmit village and its famous Carper center and Ondra Poyga (the highest stairs in Pakistan).
  2. If interested can do Baskochi Hikking.
  3. Explore the famous Hussaini Suspension Bridge and Zipline.
  4. Enjoy your time at Borith Lake.

Day 08: Drive to Khunjerab National Park:

  1. Drive through Hussaini and Passu Village.
  2. Take pictures nears Passu cones and enjoy your time at Rainbow Bridge.
  3. Enter Khunjerab at deh.
  4. Khunjerab is a conserved region and is a great habitat for Himalayan Ibex and Marmots.
  5. Enjoy your time at Pakistan-China border.

Day 09 and 10: Drive to Naran and then to Islamabad on the Day 10th.

On the 9th and 10th day, our guests will drive to Naran Valley and on the next day they will drive to Islamabad. Our guests will be dropped at their desired locations.
