Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek - Overview

Rakaposhi Basecamp trek is a short and epic adventure in Nagar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan. The trek concludes in just 2-3 days and is suitable for every fitness level. Beginning from a small hamlet in Nagar, known as Minipin village, the journey proceeds via a shepherd's trail navigating through pine forests before ascending towards Hapakun, the first camp of the trek. Tagaphari, the second campsite, sits directly in front of the peak.

Unlike distant viewpoint treks, the Rakaposhi base camp trek brings you next to the Rakaposhi Peak. The short yet rewarding journey provides the opportunity to take in the stunning views of Rakaposhi mountain, the beautiful white glacier originating from the peak, and the tranquility of Hapakun and Tagaphari pastures. Our Rakaposhi base camp is ideal for trekkers interested in less strenuous journeys and close mountain exposure.

Day 01: International Arrivals and transfer to hotel.

Detail Itinerary - Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek

Day 01 | International Arrivals: Arrival at the airport, where a member from Viola Tours will welcome you. Travel to the hotel and spend the day preparing for the trek. Also, taking advantage of the leisure day, explore the capital of Pakistan.
Day 02 | Drive to Naran Valley: Along the Hazara Motorway, commence the journey towards Gilgit. After three hours of driving, enter the alpine settings of Shogran and Kaghan. At Shogran, drive towards the Siri Payae meadows, marvel at the Kiwi Waterfall and the dense Oak forest surrounding the valley in every direction. Upon arrival, take in the panoramic views of the valley floor. Drive back to Shogran and proceed onwards to Naran Valley.
Day 03 | Arrival at Minapin Nagar: Embark on a journey towards Gilgit. Take a short break at Lulusar Lake, and enjoy a warm cup of tea. Continue the journey towards Babusar, making memories and clicking photos with the snow. Upon descending the Babusar top, enjoy a delicious meal at Moon Restaurant. Moving ahead, make your next stop at the junction point of the three great mountains, Karakoram, Himalayas, and the Hindu Kush. After a long drive, enjoy a comfortable night's stay at Minapin village.
Day 04 | Trek to Hapakun Meadows: Begin the journey to one of the most beautiful destinations in Nagar Valley. As you move forward, the trail passes through lush green meadows, crystal clear glaciated streams, and dense oak forests. The trek gradually gains elevation as you get closer to the first campsite, while the mighty Rakaposhi slowly shows itself in the background. Upon arrival at the campsite, you find yourself amidst lush green meadows and the Rakaposhi mountain standing tall, welcoming you with refreshing, crisp air.
Day 05 | Trek to Rakaposhi Base Camp: Wake up early in the morning to witness the sun with its golden rays illuminate the Rakaposhi mountain. After breakfast, continue the journey towards the Rakaposhi basecamp. The trek on this day is 3 hours long, and the trail typically ascends from Hapakun campsite. Throughout the trek, you will find yourself walking on beautiful meadows, crystal clear water streams, and beautiful Oak trees offering you shade on a hot summer day. Upon arrival, the white glacier flowing from the peak basin will leave you in awe. Spend the entire day at the base camp, clicking pictures and memories lasting for life.
Day 06 | Trek back to Minapin and Drive to Hunza: Pack up and bid farewell to the beautiful destination and begin descent towards the valley floor. Upon arrival at Minapin, proceed onwards to Hunza Valley and enjoy a deserving rest at Eagles Nest hotel.
Day 07 | Explore Hunza: Apart from the trek, engage in exploring the most liked region of Pakistan, the Hunza Valley. Spend time exploring Altit and Baltit Forts, Gojal Valley, enjoy a light adventure at Hussaini Suspension Bridge, and Borith Lake. Interact with the local community of Gulmit, visit Korgha, where a team of women entrepreneurs weave carpets, purses, and other traditional homewares.
Day 08 | Fly to Islamabad: Take a short flight back to Islamabad, capturing a final glimpse of the beautiful valleys below.
Day 09 | International Departures: Travel to the airport while cherishing beautiful memories from the Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek.

Refund Policy :The refund will be processed based on the time of cancellation and services already acquired. A certain amount will be deducted from the payment such as non-refundable amount paid to third parties or amount used in acquisition of trek permits. Read more details at refund policy.

Initial Deposit, Book Now and Pay Later: To confirm the booking an initial deposit is required which is 20 - 25 % of the tour / trek price. The remaining payment can be paid closer to the trek dates or upon arrival in Pakistan.
