Itinerary - Batura Glacier Trek.

  • Day 01 | Land in Islamabad: Arrive at Islamabad airport, where a team member from Viola Tours will welcome you. Transfer to the hotel and take some rest before setting out for the city exploration.
  • Day 02 | Scenic Flight to Gilgit: Take the scenic morning flight, enjoying the scenery from the plane before arriving at Gilgit. Meet our local guides and continue a comfortable ride along the Karkarom Highway in a 4x4 vehicle towards the Gojal Valley, located deep in the Karakoram ranges.
  • Day 03 | Passu to Batura Hussaini: Embark on a memorable trek alongside the 7th longest glacier in the world, known as the Batura Glacier. Start the hike from Passu village, passing through potato and barley fields. Ascend gradually from the outskirts of Passu, navigating your way through slippery slopes. Arrive at the glacier viewpoint, where you can witness the majesty of the Batura Glacier up close. Proceed further on the left side of the glacier to reach the first camp of the trek, the Hussaini part of the Batura Valley.
  • Day 04 | Glacier Crossing and trek to Yeshperth: Start a fresh morning surrounded by mountains, watch the sun rising above the Batura Walls, creating a beautiful scenery. After breakfast in the mountains, where a cup of Tea or Chai tastes more than usual, experience a walk on the 7th longest glacier. After approximately 1.5 hour glacier crossing, proceed towards Yeshperth, where the route gradually ascends, and you make your way through glaciated moraines and debris before arriving at Yeshperth. Upon arrival at Yeshperth, the Batura giants, often referred to as the Batura Muztagh, welcome you with a cool breeze. You can witness towering peaks rising above 7000m, including the Batura Sar, Passu Sar, Shisper Peak, and Ultar Sar. Spend the night in complete tranquility, only thinking about the beauty of Yeshperth meadow, surrounded by glaciers and Karkoram giants.
  • Day 05 | Yeshperth to Fitmahail and Guchesham: Enjoy another refreshing morning near the Batura Muztagh, where the glacier’s cold breeze hits your body and refreshes your soul. Continue the journey onwards to Fitmahail, traverse through dramatic landscapes offering sites of lush green meadows at some point, whereas rugged Karakoram terrains at other places. Drink freezing cold water from glaciated streams before reaching Fitmahail. Continue the trek onward to Guchesham for the night's stay.
  • Day 06 | Guchesham to Lup Zur Zuy and Yuksh Goz: The trek for the day leads you to a high-altitude lake present in the vicinity of Batura. In the Wakhi language the “Lup Zur Zuy” means “The lake of the big canyon”, and “Yuksh” means ibex, and “Goz” means grassy land. The trek of the day features visiting a beautiful and turquoise blue lake formed from glaciated streams and lush green alpine setting meadows, providing you the opportunity to build profound memories with your loved ones. After exploring the Guchesham, spend another night near the glacier, dreaming about the beautiful journey awaiting you the following morning.
  • Day 07 | Back to Yeshperth from Guchesham: Witness the sunlight illuminating the great Batura Walls one more time. After packing your gear, bid farewell to Guchesham and trek back to Yeshperth. At Yeshpreth, enjoy a meaningful interaction with the brave and resilient Wakhi peoples, who use the valley as a summer pasture, grazing their animals. Learn how the females make butter, cheese, and Qurut through ancient traditional approaches. Observe and take part in the herdsmen routine of rounding up their livestock and milking their animal before the night falls. Spend another peaceful night at Batura Valley.
  • Day 08 | Trek Hussaini Batura and back to Passu: Wind up your gears and bid farewell to the beautiful Batura Valley. Enroute the moraines and glaciated debris enter the glacier crossing section of the trek. Experience the walk over a giant ice bed one last time. Take a delicious evening meal at the Batura Hussaini section. Descend back to Passu village, rest, relax, and recover from the trek.
  • Day 09 | Rest and Recover Day: Spend a relaxed day in Gojal Valley, recovering from the long yet beautiful trek.
  • Day 10 | Gojal and Hunza Exploration: Taking advantage of the free day, begin exploring the Gojal valley. Visit nearby villages, tourist attractions such as Borith Lake, Ondra Fort, Passu Glacier, Gulmit village, and Hussaini’s famous suspension bridge. Gain insights into the local culture and traditions of the Wakhi community living deep in the mountains.
  • Day 11 | Back to Islamabad: Enjoy the scenic flight one more time from Gilgit to Islamabad.
  • Day 12 | International Departure: Transfer to the airport for international departure, ending the unforgettable Batura Glacier Trek with cherished memories of the beautiful peaks, glaciers, and valleys.

Initial Deposit, Book Now and Pay Later: To confirm the booking an initial deposit is required which is 20 - 25 % of the tour / trek price. The remaining payment can be paid closer to the trek dates or upon arrival in Pakistan.
