Kilik and Mintika Pass Trek is an adventure along the historic Silk Road. Before the construction of the Karakoram Highway, Silk Road travelers and traders relied on the Kilik and Mintika Pass as their primary route. The Kilik and Mintika Pass trek begins at Misgar village, a small hamlet in the Hunza Valley. The trek is relatively easy, making it accessible to people of all fitness levels interested in visiting the Pakistan-China border.

The key highlights of Kilik and Mintika Pass Trek are as follow:

Brief Itinerary - Kilik and Mintika Pass Trek

  • Day 01 | Fly to Gilgit: On the first day, the participants will fly to Gilgit from Islamabad or Lahore. The journey will continue to Hunza Valley, where the night will be stayed.
  • Day 02 | Trek from Misghar to Lup Jingal: The trek to Kilik and Mintika Pass will commence on the second day. the participant will start the trek from Qalam Darchi Fort towards the first camp site, called Lup Jingal.
  • Day 03 | Trek from Lup Jingal to Kilik Pasture: The journey will continue towards Kilik Pass, the paticpants will pass through Mur Gusha and navigate through Pamir mountain ranges to reach Kilik pasture.
  • Day 04 | Trek to Kilik Pass: The participants will further hike deep into the valley to reach the Kilik Pass located at an elevation of 4,827 meters above sea-level. The participants will visit the China border as well.
  • Day 05 | Trek back to Mur Gusha from Kilik Pasture: On this day, our guests will hike back to Mur Gusha, the junction point of Kilik and Mintika Pass. the night will be stayed at Mur Gusha, preparing for the next morning hike.
  • Day 06 | Trek To Mintika Pass: Participants will trek to Mintika Pass the following day. Passing through lush green meadows and Pamir setting pasture, they will arrival at Mintika Pass. The following night will be stayed at Mintika pasture.
  • Day 07 | Trek back to Lup Ghar and Misgar: Our guest will head back to Lup Ghar. Continuing the joureny, the trekkers will arrive back at Misgar village.
  • Day 08 | Hunza exploration: Our guest will enjoy a rest day in Hunza after a long trek, they will explore the near by tourist attractions such as Borith Lake, Hussaini bridge and more.
  • Day 09 | Fly back home: The Kilik and Mintika Pass Trek will come to an end on the ninth day. We will bid farwell to our guests at Gilgit airport.

Refund Policy :The refund will be processed based on the time of cancellation and services already acquired. A certain amount will be deducted from the payment such as non-refundable amount paid to third parties or amount used in acquisition of trek permits. Read more details at refund policy.

Payments can be done via banks or via licensed and secure payment methods. Payments are also accepted via credit and debit cards.

Initial Deposit, Book Now and Pay Later: To confirm the booking an initial deposit is required which is 20 - 25 % of the tour / trek price. The remaining payment can be paid closer to the trek dates or upon arrival in Pakistan.

Required Documents: Participants must carry valid identification such as a CNIC or passport during the trek. Any required permits or visas are the responsibility of the participant.

Participants are required to hold valid identification documents such as:

  3. Visa.

The company will provide invitation letters and other required documents for visa processing.
