Patundas Trek Hunza is a scenic and short trekking adventure in Upper Hunza, Gojal Valley. Located between the 20 km-long Passu Glacier and the 57 km-long Batura Glacier, the trek lets you experience glacier crossing with nature exploration. Witness Hunza’s 7000er mountains, including Shisper Peak (7619 m), Batura Peak (7885 m), Passu Sar (7,478 m), Dastghil Sar (7,885 m), Mumhil Sar (7,414 m), and 15 others.

The Patundas Meadows trek begins from Borith Zeropoint and follows the winding trail to Passughar before crossing the Passu Glacier. Along the glacier, the route continues to Luzdur, the campsite for the final ascent to the Patundas Meadows.

Patundas Trek - Complete Itinerary.

Day 1: Patundas Meadow Trek, Borith Zero Point to Luzdur Base Camp

  • Trek Distance: 6–7 km
  • Trek Duration: Approximately 2–3 hours
  • Starting Point: Borith Zero Point (Upper Hunza, Gojal)
  • End Point: Luzdur Base Camp
  • Trek Difficulty: Moderate — includes crossing the Passu Glacier

The Patundas Trek begins at Borith Zero Point in Gojal Valley. Following the meandering trails and passing by perpetual slopes, you will arrive at Passughar. Spot wild plants, including rhubarb and wild thyme; both are found above 2000 meters. Rhubarb is edible; simply peel the skin, and you’re ready to enjoy it.

Pause for a tea break at Passughar’s shepherd’s hut. Prepare for the most exhilarating part of the trek - crossing the Passu Glacier. Watch out for the giant crevasses as you walk above the glacier. Arrive and enjoy the rest of the day at Luzdur, the base camp before the final ascent to Patundas Meadows.

Day 2: Patundas Trek - Luzdur to Patundas Base Camp

  • Trek Distance: 6–7 km
  • Trek Duration: Approximately 3 hours
  • Starting Point: Luzdur Base Camp
  • Destination: Patundas Base Camp
  • Altitude: 4,300 meters above sea level
  • Trek Difficulty: Easy to moderate — initially steep ascent.

On this day, the Patundas trek begins at Luzdur. The ascent to the summit requires approximately 3 hours. Reach the Razek, a perfect vantage point overlooking the Passu Glacier. At the top, watch the Batura Glacier on one side and the Passu Glacier on the other, with towering peaks in every direction.

From the base camp, hike to the meadows and observe several species of wild alpine flowers that entice you to stay here forever. As the night falls, watch the starlit sky beneath the glowing Milky Way.

Day 3: Patundas Trek - Return from Patundas

Begin the return journey. Descend the slope and arrive at Luzdur. Pause for a delicious lunch with a mesmerizing view of the nearby glacier. Cross the glacier one last time and descend to Borith village. Pick-up from Borith and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy your evening at leisure.
