Patundas Trek Hunza

Patundas Trek lies in the Upper Hunza region known as Gojal. The Meadow of Patundas is surrounded by the Passu Glacier on one side and the mighty Batura Glacier on the other. Patundas Trek also offers a view of famous peaks such as Shisper 7619m and Batura Peak 7885m.

The Trek to Patundas Meadow lasts 3 days. You will experience Glacier crossing, which is a bit tricky. However, local expert guides will help you do it smoothly. Patundas Trek is divided into two main stages. The first camp site is Luzdur, which is reached by crossing the Passu Glacier. The second is Patundas Meadow camp site which can be reached by a 3-to-4-hour steep trek. The entire distance of this trek is around 29 km.

The trek begins near the famous Borith Lake, its 40 km away from central Hunza or Karimabad Village. The drive takes about 40-50 minutes from central Hunza to reach the starting point of Patundas Trek

Day 1: Patundas Meadow Trek, Borith Zero Point to Luzdur Base Camp

The trek begins from Borith Zero Point in the scenic Gojal region of Upper Hunza. Guests will be transferred from their hotel to Borith Valley. The first segment is crossing a glacier. It might seem tough, but you won't need any special skills or gear. The trail leads to Luzdur, the first base camp, with spectacular views along the way.

Day 2: Luzdur to Patundas Base Camp

  • Trek Distance: 6–7 km
  • Trek Duration: Approximately 2 hours
  • Starting Point: Luzdur Base Camp
  • Destination: Patundas Base Camp
  • Altitude: ~4,300 meters above sea level
  • Trek Difficulty: Easy to moderate — initially steep ascent.

The second day starts in Luzdur. It features a short, steep climb to Patundas Meadow, a grassy plateau at high altitude. When you get to the top, you’ll enjoy stunning views. The Batura Glacier is on one side, and the Passu Glacier is on the other. This spot offers one of the most breathtaking alpine views in the Hunza region.

Day 3: Return from Patundas

After taking in the views and snapping great photos at Patundas, the group will head back. They'll follow the same path down to Borith Valley.
