Located in the heart of the Karakoram, the Machulo La Trek unfolds as an enthrilling journey through the beautiful yet hard terrains of the Karakoram. This trek offers magnificent views of towering peaks, including K2, the world's second highest mountain, earning it the name K2 View Point Trek.

The journey begins in Skardu Valley and is the shortest route to witness all five 8000ers of the Karakoram. The trek follows an ascent from Machulo village towards the first camp. As you gain elevation, you will be treated with panoramic views of Khaplu, Machulo village, and beautiful peaks. This trek also allows you to camp at approximately 5200 meters amidst the Karakoram grandeurs.

Itinerary - Machulo La Trek

Day 01 | Islamabad: Enjoy a scenic adventure in Islamabad city. Enjoy a light adventure at Trail 5, a short hike in the outskirts of Islamabad. Acclimatize your body and enjoy a panoramic view of Islamabad.
Day 02 | Skardu | Shangrila Resort and Skardu Exploration: Upon arrival in Skardu, enjoy a free day at Shangrila Resort. Visit the scenic Chunda village and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Soq Valley. Spent the night at complete peace amidst stunning vistas and natural landscape.
Day 03 | Scenic drive to Machulo village: Group up with our team and embark on a journey to Machulo village. Alongside the Indus River, witness small Balti settlements. Pass through verdant wheat and barley fields before arriving at Machulo village.
Day 04 | Machulo village to Khadi Broq - Camp I: The epic Machulo La Trek begins from Machulo village. The section of the trek ascends through barren rocky terrains and gradually enters boulder fields with patches of grasses. As you start gaining elevation, the trek offers panoramic views of Khaplu, Machulo, and many other Ghanche settlements. Throughout the trek, you will see locals grazing their animals at highland pastures.
Day 05 | Trek from Khadi Broq to Qouli Brangsa - Camp II: After a delicious breakfast, continue the journey towards Qouli Brangsa - Camp II. Hike through verdant meadows and shepherd’s shelters, meeting local herders and learning about their daily routines and traditions. Spend another night at Camp II - Khadi Broq.
Day 06 | Qouli Brangsa to Machulo La K2 Viewpoint - Camp III: Wake up early in the morning and traverse through rocky terrains to reach the stunning K2 viewpoint. Enjoy mesmerizing views of K2 and other prominent peaks along the Karakoram range. Click memories with the second-highest peak in the world before returning to Qouli Brangsa. Spent another night camp II before returning back to Machulo village.
Day 07 | Trek downhill to Machulo village and back to Skardu: Begin the downhill trek early in the morning. The trek descends from Camp II, eventually bringing you back to the valley floor. Upon arrival, our team will welcome you upon completing the epic trek. Drive back to Skardu, recapping the unforgettable memories you just made.
Day 09 | Scenic flight back to the cities: Board a morning flight to Islamabad.
Day 10 | Machulo La Trek last day: Drop off at the airport. Bid farewell to Pakistan and return home.

Refund Policy :The refund will be processed based on the time of cancellation and services already acquired. A certain amount will be deducted from the payment such as non-refundable amount paid to third parties or amount used in acquisition of trek permits. Read more details at refund policy.

Initial Deposit, Book Now and Pay Later: To confirm the booking an initial deposit is required which is 20 - 25 % of the tour / trek price. The remaining payment can be paid closer to the trek dates or upon arrival in Pakistan.
