Deosai National Park lies at the convergence of the Himalayas and Karakoram. It’s also known as the Land of Giants. The plateau sits at an altitude of 4,000 meters and remains closed from November through May. The plain encompasses gorgeous high-altitude meadows, freshwater streams, lakes, and is home to many species of flora and fauna. Itinerary - Deosai National Park Tour

Day 01: Arrival at Skardu Airport

On day one, you’ll arrive in Skardu. Explore nearby attractions. Hike to the Karpocho Fort to acclimatize yourself to the increasing altitude. Drive to Soq Valley and enjoy the valley’s scenic beauty. As the day ends, you will return to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 02: Deosai National Park Tour

Embark on the journey to Deosai National Park. The bumpy off-road route will take you to Sadpara Lake, Skardu’s freshwater lake and city’s water source. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and walk around the lake shores.

Travel further to the plateau. Watch your surroundings; you may see Himalayan marmots basking in the sun. At midday, you will arrive at Bara Pani. This location offers a wonderful ambiance to immerse yourself in. Listening to the gentle sound of the freshwater stream passing through the lush green meadow is one of the most peaceful experiences.

After lunch break, we will drive to Chota Pani. After spending the rest of the day at Chota Pani, return to Bara Pani and spend the night in camps. Enjoy the night watching the starlit sky.

Day 03: Deosai National Park Tour - Fish and Wildlife Observation

On the third day of the Deosai National Park Tour, after a hearty breakfast, begin tracking the park’s elusive wildlife. Our professional local guides will take you to prime locations where the odds of spotting a Himalayan brown bear are high. This plateau was reserved as a national park to protect the endangered brown bear. Due to conservation efforts, the number of these animals has increased significantly. In summer, the probability of spotting a brown bear increases.

After sighting these incredible animals, we will hike to the nearest fishing area. The plateau crystal-clear streams are also blessed with snow trout. Experience fishing followed by cooking a fresh outdoor meal. As the evening approaches, we will spend another night at Deosai National Park.

Day 04: Sheosar Lake Exploration

On this day of the Deosai National Park Tour, you’ll explore Sheosar Lake, which is 4,142 meters above sea level. Sheosar is among the best holiday destinations. Without visiting Sheosar, the journey remains incomplete. From this elevation, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the nearby Karakoram and Himalayan peaks. Nanga Parbat is clearly visible far in the background.

Spend the rest of the day near the lake. Marvel at the splendors of Deosai while exploring the park’s flora and fauna. Drive back to Skardu Valley and spend the night.

Day 05: End of Deosai National Park Tour

The Deosai National Park Tour will end as you fly back home from Skardu Airport. The beautiful journey and all the experiences you had on this tour will stay with you for years to come.
