Deosai National Park Tour

On the first day, you’ll arrive in Skardu. You will explore nearby attractions or hike to Karpocho Fort to acclimatize yourself to the increasing altitude. You’ll also take some short treks in Soq Valley and enjoy the unusual beauty of the alpine valley. As the day ends, you will return to your hotel for the overnight stay.

As the day unfolds, the Deosai National Park Tour begins. The journey will commence via the dirt road to Deosai. Along the way, we will take a short break at Sadpara Lake. Skardu gets its water supply from this lake. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings while walking on the lake shores.

Travel further to the plateau. Keep a keen eye; you may see the Himalayan marmots basking in the sun. At midday, you will arrive at Bara Pani. This location has the best serenity to immerse yourself in. Listening to the gentle sound of the freshwater stream passing through the lush green meadow is one of the most peaceful experiences.

After lunch break, we will drive to Chota Pani. After spending the rest of the day at Chota Pani, you will return to Bara Pani. We will be spent in the camps. You can enjoy the night watching the starlit sky.

On this day, after breakfast, you will enjoy a unique experience tracking wildlife at Deosai. Our professional local guides will take you to the prime location where the odds of spotting the Himalayan brown bear are high. This plateau was reserved as a national park to protect the endangered brown bear. Due to conservation efforts in place, the number of these animals has increased significantly. During the summers, one can easily spot a brown bear in the vicinity.

After sighting these incredible animals, we will hike to the nearest fishing area. The crystal-clear streams of this plateau are also blessed with snow trout. We will experience fishing followed by cooking a fresh outdoor meal. As the evening approaches, we will spend another night at Deosai National Park.

On this day of the Deosai National Park Tour, our discovery will take us further to Sheosar Lake. This lake sits at an altitude of 4,142 meters and is one of the most stunning destinations. Without visiting Sheosar, the journey remains incomplete. From this elevation, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the nearby Karakoram and Himalayan peaks. Nanga Parbat is clearly visible far in the background.

Spend the rest of the day near the lake. Marvel at the splendors of Deosai while exploring the flora and fauna. Drive back to Skardu Valley and spend the night.
