Morning:

  • Begin your Skardu Day Trip with a delicious Balti breakfast. There are many restaurants in Skardu that offer local foods which are traditional plus organic.
  • Begin your drive to Upper Kachura Lake. You can reach the lake in just 25 minutes from the city. The blue water against the striking mountain hues makes it a picture-perfect location. You can also experience activities such as boat riding and zipline crossing.
  • Explore Soq Valley, located just 10 minutes from Upper Kachura Lake. Noted for its breathtaking scenery, this valley has a lot to offer. You can enjoy moments in complete tranquility sitting beside the crystal-clear river while observing the verdant slopes.
  • Drive to Shangrila Resort. The resort is adjacent to Lower Kachura Lake and is one of Skardu’s most stunning attractions. You can visit the resort after paying a ticket fee of PKR 1000.
  • Visit the Italian K2 Museum. This museum was built in 2004 to honor the Italian group of mountaineers who were the first to summit K2 in 1954.

Afternoon:

  • Begin your journey towards the second-largest plateau of the earth. Deosai, also called the land of giants, is accessible only via an off-road. The plateau remains open from June through November. On a lucky day, you may spot the famous Himalayan brown bear. Marmots are also seen whistling and basking in the afternoon sun.
  • You’ll learn about the Buddhist influence on Baltistan at Manthal Buddha. The Buddha’s sculpture at Manthal Valley depicts the ancient Buddhist traditions. The rock carving dates from the 8th century.
  • Travel to Sadpara Lake. The lake is the freshwater source of Skardu Valley. The name Satpara Lake comes from the famous mountaineer Ali Sadpara, who lost his life during the K2 winter expedition in 2021. Upon arrival, take a boat ride, or you can explore the surroundings.
  • Hike to Sheosar Lake, which is located at an altitude of 4,250 meters above sea level. This lake offers the most stunning viewpoints. You can witness the turquoise-blue water with Nanga Parbat visible over the lake.
  • Spend time with your loved ones at Bara Pani and Chota Pani. Both of these locations offer elegant views of the vast Deosai plains.

Evening:

  • Enjoy an evening walk to Karpocho Fort, also known as the Skardu Qila. The fort sits atop a hill and dates back to the 16th century. The early structure of the fort was built under the rule of Ali Sher Khan Anchan. From the top, you can experience the panoramic view of Skardu and surrounding valleys.
  • As the evening approaches, retire to your hotel and wind up your Skardu Day Trip.
